The Chance of a Lifetime

To my dear praying friends: In the past six months, some really amazing opportunities have arisen and I am hoping that you would consider joining me through your prayers and intercession. In 1981, I gave my life to Jesus Christ at a Campus Crusade for Christ retreat. It was a Sunday morning. The next day, on Monday morning, I was out on the mall at my college, telling people about Jesus. From that moment it has been my greatest passion to share the gospel and lead people into a genuine relationship with Jesus. It’s not hard or scary for me, I love it. About 6 months ago, I began to feel that God was stirring me to begin to do more evangelism ministry. Almost immediately, an opportunity arose for me to preach at two evangelistic festivals in Southern India this February. I jumped at the opportunity. Just as I was organizing that, God brought me a second wonderful opportunity to share the Gospel with the lost. This time in Nigeria. I am on the Board of Directors of Christ for all Nations Ministry. This is the ministry of Reinhard Bonnke. This ministry has seen more than 62 million people come to Christ just since 2000. This last October, Reinhard told me that God had put it on his heart to help me take the next step as an evangelist. He didn’t know how at the time but promised to pray about it. A couple of weeks later he emailed me from Nigeria and invited me to speak at his crusades in January and March. I will have an opportunity to preach 3 nights each time for about 15 minutes. This is an incredible opportunity to reach hundreds of thousands of people with the Gospel. Reinhard typically draws at least a million people over the course of 5 nights. I am attaching a picture of a typical crowd. It is amazing. I am honestly in awe that God would entrust me with this privilege. With all of that as background, I am asking for those friends of mine that have a heart for the lost and a willingness to pray to join a prayer campaign for me and these upcoming events. It is always prayer that prepares the way for the Gospel. It is prayer that moves the hand of God. It is prayer that can break through traditions, and false religions, and every kind of spiritual stronghold that keeps people from knowing Jesus and giving their lives to him. It is also prayer that sustains the ministers and protects them from the attacks of the enemy. I have learned that without prayer, we lack the grace and the power that only God can give. There are so many beautiful people whose lives are a mess and God has been preparing them to hear the Gospel. For thousands of people, these meetings will be life changing. However, how many people are really touched also depends on prayer. Bonnke often says that bringing the Gospel is like a great twin engine jet plane. One engine is prayer, the other is the preaching of God’s word. It takes both engines fully engaged to really take off and have the full impact. So, do you want to get in on this? I am convinced that this is how we are supposed to work together. Some of us go, some of us pay for it and some of us provide the prayer cover. I am hoping that you will join in the prayer cover piece. Here is what I would ask you to do. Get familiar with the schedule and specific issues as I send them to you. Pray everyday from now all the way through March 16. Email me with any words or thoughts that you feel God would have you share with me to help me prepare for having the greatest possible impact. I will then email you various pieces of information to help you pray in a focused and specific way. During the actual crusades, I will send you reports and photos and updated prayer needs. That’s it.
